Description
Lucky the bird who calls this home tweet home. Copied from a Frank Furness carriage house, this cozy birdhouse could use a lick of paint. Frank Furness was a Philadelphia architect famous in the 1870's to 80's, for monumental commercial and residential buildings. The interiors are often quite spectacular. In their way they became precursors to modern architecture through the unusual use of materials. The one pictured here reflects a style closer the Centennial Exposition of 1876.
