Description
I had the notion that Italian painter Caravaggio lived near the Piazza della Torretta. This warren of ancient Roman streets is like the maze from which you never emerge. Where did he create his masterpieces with so little natural sunlight? Even at midday. These streets take us back to a time when life was more immediate. Taking care of simple necessities required a lot of time and planning. This area is not that far from the Tiber river. And may have been prone to flooding.
