About Ira Shander
Hello, and thank-you for taking time to visit my web site. As a long time illustrator specializing in pen and ink, photography developed as a means for me to become expressive in color. My specialty as a line artist has always been history and architecture. I've created series for major companies, publishers, and cultural institutions throughout the United States. Take time to visit some of my galleries. I welcome commissions such as house portraits and hobby related subject matter. Again, take a peek at the galleries to get a better idea. I hope that you enjoy both means of expression and visit often. Thanks, Ira Shander

The color combo. here is just magic! L
Ira Shander replied:
Thank-you for taking time to look at my work; and for your kind comment. I am mostly a pen and ink illustrator. Having worked in black and white most of my career, photography allows me the luxury to be more expressive and emotional through the use of color. Your drawings are very beautiful and poetic. Are you familiar with the French painter Marie Laurencin? Not sure of the spelling. I think you might like her work.

I love this Ira! Beautiful tones and light and depth!
Ira Shander replied:
Thank-you Meg. I had to literally coax this picture out of the bushes.
