Description
Ladies have been golfing in the US at least as far as the 1890's. Sports clothing for women was cumbersome. All that changed greatly within 25 years. By 1910 there is plenty of photographic evidence of ladies on the links. By the early 1900s, country and golf clubs were becoming more and more elaborate and social. The American artist Charles Dana Gibson devoted whole series to golfers and their tribulations.
