It used to be said in Victorian architectural journals, that San Francisco houses tended to be over ornamented. One hundred twenty-five years later everyone enjoys the exuberant excess. Visitors from the far corners of the earth come to see and enjoy them. I think the houses reflect the spirit of those who were brave enough to venture forth to the unknown. And build something entirely new.
