Artist's Description
This very grand ultimate art case was exhibited in Philadelphia at the Centennial Exhibition in in 1876. It was supposed to have later wound up at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC but then to have disappeared. I have seen photographs of similar art cases from Bosendorfer of the same period. They are pretty spectacular.
