Now that we have an official one for this month, i'd still like what I asked on the other one --

I want my work to be seen in the order I want, NEW items for buyers, not just me.

To buyers my store hasn't been updated in years. And isn't and won't ever be updated because the new stuff is at the very back where no one will find it. Which is super concerning it means that people will stop checking before long and we all lose on sales. I have people who want a calendar and are expecting to see new stuff, but its listed in a random order, yet it looks fine to me. So I can't even tell them to click a page and its the 3rd one in. Because its not.

Can we have our real order back again?

Thanks, till next month

In regards to FAA/Pixels and Premium site Blogs:

If someone clicks on blogs, please have the blog post open in a new tab to keep the viewer on my profile page.
If I edit a blog post, the date changes to the current date and the post ends up on top. Please retain the original date and order it was in.
Add the Blog link to the top menu on our premium sites.
Remove or make it work; to "Subscribe to (members name')s Blogs" under our avitar.
Add the "Click Here For More Information" grey box to our premium site.
Maintain the blog as search engine friendly for the premium site.

If it is possible I would like to see an editable tab option on our premium website. One that we could use to add a custom URL that would open in a new page for our offsite blogs, etc...

Thanks for considering!

I would like actual artists ie, painters, photographers separated from the big box art sellers and AI sellers. These sellers can put out 100 pieces a day. They often take a HUGE number of slots on any given search on the very first page of results. We all know that if you aren't on the first page, chance of being seen grow smaller and smaller. Give the buyers a better shopping experience.

There are likely 2 types of buyers, those looking for art they like to hang on the wall, doesn't matter who is selling, they just like it. Others are looking for art actually created by the seller, the independent artists, creating art with feeling as seen through their eyes.

On the home page of FAA under the ART tab, simply add a link to where independent artists are located, a link where big box sellers are and a link where you will find AI. Put it at the top of the drop down, it will narrow the field for buyers right from the get go.

FAA is very large and I know if I was looking to purchase art from an actual artist, I would find it frustrating to have to dig through all of the other art forms offered here.

Thanks for the considertation.

My suggestion is the same as Rebecca's, I would also like to see the artists, painters and photographers separated from Big Box and AI sellers. Thank you.

Hello dear FAA! Since I recently read that Sean is busy fixing some issues related to the search I will not mention anything about that.
So, this is my suggestion for March, please:

In order to increase the sales of the site (and with the hope to increase mine as well, of course), instead of offering random discounts, what about planning them as a reward? What I mean is,
Would it be possible to build some kind of Customer loyalty scheme? Rewarding customers who come back has proven to be a successful marketing strategy for a lot of business, online as well. This feature will increase your competitiveness, I think.

Many use Points, if you spend a certain amount of dollars you get 1 point, and if you reach a certain amount of points you get a discount.
Others use Refer to a friend, like this you will get many more subscribers and emails addresses to whom you can send advertisements.
Or if a customer buys something, if he buys something else within a month he gets a discount.

Thanks a million for all the work behind the scenes, Sean and Abbie in primis but also each one of you who work so hard and diligently for the success of this business!

I've been thinking for a long time that a 'joker' tab on the header of our premium website with a blank page could be a very useful addition to many of us.

The page could be filled with any content we want - selling originals, FAQ for customers, inserting YT videos, etc. - and the label could be customized accordingly.
And if the URL it leads to could be customizable as well it could be used for very different purposes, for anyone to their liking. Including leading to an internal or outside blog (like Shelli suggested above) or any other page. And for the ones who don't want to use it it could be simply turned off.

With this flexibility it could be a good solution for more different feature requests.

Thanks for asking! I'd love to see the ability to add multiple Administrators to groups, such that the Owner could add and delete Administrators, while Administrators could review, add and remove images; feature and unfeature images (perhaps not edit the group home page); create contests; and email group members. This would make active groups easier to run and more fault tolerant.

Agree with Rebecca's suggestion.

Agree with Rebecca also. Two divisions where Independent Artists and Big Publishing Companies are not co-mingled.

I would like to suggest to make FAA easier for customers to use.

A while ago I gave a FAA gift card to a young, computer savvy, college educated friend. She wanted to buy some of my art, but she couldn't figure out how, so finally she gave up and gave the gift card to her mother-in-law. Her mother-in-law couldn't figure it out either and she called me for help. What they couldn't figure out was this:

They didn't realize that to purchase anything from FAA, they have to click on "join". So my suggestion is to leave the word "join" for artists and art galleries and create a different section for buyers with the word "shop" or "buy". I know there are thousands of people who figure out every day how to purchase art from FAA, but who knows how many sales are lost because some customers don't get it?

It's only a small change and it could potentially lead to many more purchases for FAA and for us artists.

I, too, would also like to see the artists, painters and photographers separated from Big Box and AI sellers. Thank you.

Keep in mind, it was those individual artists, painters and photographers that supported this site, when it was just a fledging entity

My suggestion is for members to have the option of organizing the images within our collections the way we want … the way we used to be able to do.

It can be made an option for us in the behind the scenes / setting area somewhere.

Since 80-90% of the members don't know about the current situation … where we have no control … and probably wouldn't care if they did know … then the objective of Fine Art America, which is to put our … um … old stuff … up front, would be accomplished.

But those of us who care … and we DO care … and we're probably a minority … could still organize our little "shops" the way we see fit.

That would be great.

That's my suggestions for this month.

I would like to see suggestions be responded to.
I would like to see search engine results be more accurate. ie; When one searches for Neil Young only three pages of results pop up. Not all buyers will understand how and what to click on to get further results.

I mentioned this in the announcement thread, but I'd like a way to. offer hints to the AI doing the descriptions and keywords to help it at the start of the upload process.

All of my sunrise photos have been described, rather elaborately, as sunsets in a way that can't be easily modified or edited.

I have a request for Sean. I would like to see a list of groups, with clickable names, that have featured an image, displayed on the right side alongside the description, products, keywords, media, embed, etc. It can either be visible at all times, or available by clicking. The three that are presently displayed have pushed any earlier features off the page.

Along with that, as time permits, it would be nice to see an archive of featured images on the group site, which automatically adds any art that has been featured. I like thanking the group Administrator, but not all of them have a discussion topic for that purpose.

On another topic, I have found that locating products other than wall art in FAA is very difficult, if the image is accessed either through the images list or the groups list. If a link to the product on the shop page can be provided, that would be very helpful.

Bug: when I use a search term to find a new group, and there are two pages of results, when I click on the "Next" button, I get sent back to the main page on groups. I cannot access the second page.

Some really great suggestions above, and agree with pretty much all of them, especially separating independent artists and the custom web page tab.

I'll add a minor, secondary thing that may be more of a 'quick hit'. Would be nice if Likes/Favorites were tracked in such a way that when you open something you've already liked/favorited, it remembers that. Might help with engagement so that users aren't re-favoriting things they've already favorited when participating in promotional threads?

Thanks for all the work everyone does trying to keep a diverse crowd of differing interests happy and to keep this a viable site and community!

Thank you Rebecca H. I agree with you 100%. When I first joined FAA I had no idea that there'd be any AI works at all (let alone so much of it). I'm very old school & while I can appreciate AI I believe it's so modernized that it ought to be categorized & separated as such. Thank you for pointing that out.

Another vote for Rebecca's idea to separate the independent artists from the big box and AI sellers. Also please if possible, allow us to show our most recent work first on the page. We all put a lot of effort into our work and if no one ever sees it seems like we are just throwing it into the wind.

Thanks for listening and considering these suggestions.

I'd like to see an announcement when an idea from a Suggestion thread has been implemented. Mine have mostly been aimed fixing the usability issues on the site, but I don't think any have been implemented. Looking back through Suggestion posts from other community members I'm hard pushed to find any that have been implemented. Publicizing those that have been rolled out would be encouraging.

I'd like to see additional staff added and empowered to help with members' issues.

I've been trying to get an accounting error corrected going on nearly four months now. I've repeatedly communicated with two different FAA people and issued a CS ticket. While they have acknowledged the error and tried to help I've been told only Sean can fix the error and apparently he is just too busy to be concerned about a relatively small dollar amount that is owed me. Somehow other staff need to be available to make these kind of fixes. It seems odd that this is left to the founder and CEO to fix.

The error occurred when FAA canceled an order due to some unnamed technical error, maybe a corrupted file. They debited my account for a cancelled order, but I had never been given credit for the sale in the first place. So essentially they took away money owed me from other completed sales. I understand how this can happen. What I don't understand is that only Sean is empowered to fix it. The really sad part is that the buyer claims she wasn't notified the order had been cancelled. This buyer is a buyer for a small museum gift shop and would have likely been a repeat buyer if the sale had gone well. She told me she won't be dealing with FAA anymore. I really hesitated putting this in the forum, but I seem to have run out of options to getting the issue resolved.

So back to my original suggestion - please hire or empower someone who can fix member issues!

I'm sure I've asked before and I'm sure I've seen it requested, but we really could use some fresh and varied room mockups for our images. At this time, I either pay for Artrooms app to get good staged images or I resort to using another POD's mockups to promote my FAA stuff. The currently available images are not very attention grabbing for ad purposes.

I would really appreciate it if the artists could be in control of the image order in our Collections. There is a method to how we order our own images.

At least give us the option with a tool in default settings.

I also agree with Rebecca's suggestion.

As for my suggestion, I'd like to see in contests judged by a jury to have the jurists have the ability to delete images as they are going along to get to the winners.

Shelia Hunt

I agree with Rebecca's suggestion.

My suggestion is to spruce up our Pixels site by (1) Adding the new stretchy site design, same as on FAA, and (2) Please move the description to the top of the image page underneath the title, same as on FAA. Visitors would prefer not to have to scroll down thru the products to find the description of the image. Thanks so much for your consideration.

In light of the apparent success of the new AI keyword / descriptions uploader, I would like to see something similar that gives a warning of 'Do You Really Want To Upload This??' to stop me making a fool of myself when having one of those 'what on earth were you thinking' moments'! This suggestion is a bit 'tongue in cheek', but I am only half joking! During my time at FAA, I have deleted hundreds of images that I originally thought were worth uploading, so this suggestion would work for me!

Could the keywords go back to the photographers/artist's discretion? A lot of mine have "up movie" as the first keyword. None of my images have anything to do with up movie. When you click on up movie and see what is listed, it makes absolutely no sense why that is listed on my images.

Paul Boizot

Dale AFAIK the keywords are at our discretion, if you are referring to the new auto generated keywords. If you upload your art with keywords already added, then there will not be any AI keywords added. They only populate an empty description and keyword field. Or you can edit them to remove all or some, and add your own.

Dave Bowman

Wholeheartedly agree with Rebecca’s suggestion.

I would like to see a more modern version interface to upload images by "drag and drop" (like other websites) rather than the current upload version where you can only upload one image at a time (or 5 images at time) to increase speed in workflow when adding images to galleries/collections. Thank you :-)

Please give us back control over the order within our collections. I have a couple of collections that are now basically useless. This is very, very important to a lot of us. It would be so appreciated if we could have that control back. Thanks.

I'm onboard with everyone else that is asking to have control over the order of their images on our own website! Just makes sense that we want people to see our newest stuff.

I've been experiencing a large amount of CANCELLED orders. This is very unusual for me. So I've asked those I could, why they cancelled. It is because frames are on backorder and they are waiting way too long for orders to ship and no one lets them know about the delay. FAA just waits for a customer to contact them and ask and then they offer them the option to cancel the order and they do.

So my suggestion is that the system should be updated when there is a backorder on anything that people can order. Then they can make a decision right on the spot if they want to wait an extended amount of time. Or they can select a different option. Additionally, if this is not possible, sending customers an email letting them know why their orders are delayed would make for good business practice and customer retention. Many sites do these things and I like to shop on those sites.

I would very much like to have the ability to remove certain images of my paintings on FAA that get hotlinked by unscrupulous websites. I have one painting in particular that I removed from FAA way back in 2012 because infringement had gone nuts on the then-new Pinterest. Those images still exist on FAA's servers, are available to the public and Pixsy reminds me of the hundreds of horrible sites using those images via hotlinking for every conceivable purpose, every time I log in. The thieves have figured out that we can't easily remove those images like we can on our own websites or Pinterest.

DMCA takedowns don't work for hotlinked images because they haven't actually been copied. It's a copyright loophole that favors infringers.

This all creates a very infringer-friendly environment with stable, long-term URLs for them to exploit.

If anyone has any ideas about how to address this problem, I'm all ears, thanks.

Automated sales announcements to our FB page account. But seriously, only if the announcement came from our own personal Pixels page or we had an option to choose. ....and a user-customizable announcement would be the greatest thing since white-bread.....AND break the internet! -W

Please, please, please improve the upload process for new images. It takes 2x or 3x longer than it should to upload new images dealing with timed-out and other upload failures.

Adding new images should be flawless; it is the lifeblood of selling for FAA and individual artists!

Mike Savad

The 20% off

can you set it up so only account holders that are logged in - can see it?

I've looked at so many reviews that said I had the sale, put it in the cart, then it was gone when I got home. They see it as a bait and switch. And the others are waiting for it to happen and while they wait, they may cool off about buying it.

So instead i think it should be full price, I don't think its increasing the sales, I think those people either got lucky or did wait, I don't think there should be a sale at all. Or it should be for a first time buyer. Or linked to an account. So they can log in, look around, get the sale, go home, use a phone, log into the site in panera bread etc and then order it like any other company. Rather than having a vague sale that only works on one single device at that very moment. Because most people aren't set in their mind to buy it right then and there. They want to mull it over and discuss it at home. And the price in the cart should be that price. And maybe we will get more sales and less people complaining about the bait and switch sale that we seem to have now (they see it as a bait and switch, their words).

Seems to be no April suggestion thread so…

Can we get a new artwork category?

Graphic. arts or Graphic design, if graphic arts sounds somewhat pornographic to Google.

I'm doing some stuff that wold be better described as graphic art rather than digital art.

Moira Risen

I agree with Mike.
I've had emails from visitors of my premium site complaining about this and I can't answer them anything that sounds like a fair explanation.
It hurts reputation, creates distrust and hurts sales.

If Sean would change the header to something like : "20% off sitewide discount, only if you buy it RIGHT NOW" it would be a lot better.
That's a clear, fair offer, and it elicits sales.

And that's just a simple 1 minute task, it wouldn't require any coding time...

Shelli Fitzpatrick

I was looking for the April suggestions thread but there doesn't seem to be one yet so I am adding one here.

This is my official suggestion for April 2024

Please, please, please give us an option to choose the background color one time for all the products. IE: universal background color button at the top of the product customization pages so that we don't have to adjust it separately for each product. Every product requires 3 extra clicks and it is really playing havoc with my carpel tunnel syndrome not to mention that is is tedious and time consuming.

Thank you so much for considering this for me again.

Adding: I need it so often because the default background color is so often not a great choice.
