Artist's Description
In Paris on the Rue St. Honore just off the Rue Royale, there is a famous pastry and tea shop. Everyday I would pass the window and almost pass out. Six billion calories and counting. Every dessert in that display case was a work of art.
About Ira Shander
Hello, and thank-you for taking time to visit my web site. As a long time illustrator specializing in pen and ink, photography developed as a means for me to become expressive in color. My specialty as a line artist has always been history and architecture. I've created series for major companies, publishers, and cultural institutions throughout the United States. Take time to visit some of my galleries. I welcome commissions such as house portraits and hobby related subject matter. Again, take a peek at the galleries to get a better idea. I hope that you enjoy both means of expression and visit often. Thanks, Ira Shander

I am afraid that I would have capitulated! The berries themselves are very low in calories and high in nutrients. I might have been able to extricate myself from the situation by shooting first, eating the berries and only eating part of the crust. I would happily have eaten the berries without the crust, but being presented with a crust with no berries would have been hardly any temptation at all! Now my mouth is watering major time and strawberries are going on the shopping list!
