Description
West Quoddy Head Light is one of America's oldest lighthouses. Dating from 1808 it looks out on Maine's Quoddy Narrows. Across the bay is Campobello Island in Canada where Franklin Roosevelt began his long battle with polio. Thomas Jefferson was president when the first rubbl-stone tower was built, later replaced with brick in 1858. This is the farthest northeast point of the United States.
