Description
Thomas Point Lighthouse dates from the year 1875. It replaced two previous attempts to keep ships away from dangerous reefs and shoals in the Chesapeake Bay. This is known as a screw pile design. Iron screws are turned into the bed of the bay for stability. Very few of these remain in service. It is now a destination for boaters. And I believe it is possible to tour the lighthouse.
Years ago when winters were colder, ice used to flow down from the Susquehanna River and cause ice jams. Often they would damage the lighthouses in their way. Once, one of these structures was carried out to sea by the ice. The two keepers were astounded to wake up floating in the Atlantic. They were rescued.

Ira - this drawing is extremely well executed. The angle of observation is perfect, and your use of negative space gives the viewer's eye room to 'breathe'. The addition of the color on the flag and roof is a nice lagniappe on an already tasty presentation. I'm forwarding it to a friend who was an architectural drawing professor at the ArtCenter in Pasadena.
