Life is full of mysteries. And mysteries are nothing more than things we cannot comprehend just yet. When I looked at this leaf with its droplets of water, it reminded me that life is endless. How do I know? Just a hunch.
Hello, and thank-you for taking time to visit my web site. As a long time illustrator specializing in pen and ink, photography developed as a means for me to become expressive in color. My specialty as a line artist has always been history and architecture. I've created series for major companies, publishers, and cultural institutions throughout the United States. Take time to visit some of my galleries. I welcome commissions such as house portraits and hobby related subject matter. Again, take a peek at the galleries to get a better idea. I hope that you enjoy both means of expression and visit often. Thanks, Ira Shander

Phenomenal photograph, Ira!
Ira Shander replied:
Thank you Michael for the appreciation and comments on this and the others. I didn't plan the outcome. I looked down in the parking lot where I was living at the time after a bad storm and there it was. Mother Nature was definitely on my side that day.

Stunningly beautiful and you are right about mysteries being beyond our present comprehension, but they will not always be and, yes, our lives will be without end. We just move on to the next plane of existence and then the one after that. For some they will represent a huge improvement. Others will bemoan the unwise use they made of their time here on the Earth, but there is no going back. No re-winds, There are things that I would do differently, if I could have my time over again, but there was only one Perfect Man, Jesus Christ, who laid down his life for us, so that we might be able to progress on to higher realms of glory. It seems incredible that there are those who have chosen darkness over light and who still will not change their ways, but I am sure that most will. The likes of Judas Iscariot and Cain, the first murderer, have passed the point of no return and will be banished to that place whence there is no return, as they have chosen evil over good and in the process lost their ability to change. Thankfully, they are relatively few in number. As I approach the end of my days, I do not want to leave our children and grandchildren, but I do want to be re-united with my parents and grandparents. We do not all come into the world at the same time and, except in rare circumstances, we do not all leave it at the same time. I look forward to meeting my family again, old friends and my companion animals. If we could glimpse the glories of the afterlife, where there is no pain, disease or sorrow and where everything is so much more glorious and beautiful, we would be knocking each other over to get there! So perhaps it is just as well that we cannot!

Thanks Angela.

An outstanding macro, and yes it is beginning to seem like fall, lots of leaves falling early due to the drought. Congrats on your features! LF
Ira Shander replied:
Thank-you Angela.

Thank-you so much Dora. Last week I happened to look down at the ground and this leaf with big droplets caught my eye. Although it's August and in the nineties, Autumn is in the wings. My favorite time of the year.
