Hello, and thank-you for taking time to visit my web site. As a long time illustrator specializing in pen and ink, photography developed as a means for me to become expressive in color. My specialty as a line artist has always been history and architecture. I've created series for major companies, publishers, and cultural institutions throughout the United States. Take time to visit some of my galleries. I welcome commissions such as house portraits and hobby related subject matter. Again, take a peek at the galleries to get a better idea. I hope that you enjoy both means of expression and visit often. Thanks, Ira Shander

You need a lot of dough to live comfortably in Paris. Walking up six flights of stairs with groceries to a tiny apartment isn't fun. But everyone still loves Paris. And… wants to be there.
Jean Hall
Very nice! Really gives you the feeling of how narrow some of the old alleys are.
Ira Shander
Thank-you Christine. When I look at these narrow streets it reminds me of a Paris that is so old. Paris of Balzac and Moliere. Before the grand boulevards. Chopin and Rameau. Everybody thinks of Paris in their own way. With the quickening of life during the industrial revolution, time speeded up. People lost their connection to quiet. Thank-you for validating what I was trying to express.
Christine Burdine
I've been there at least a hundred times in a hundred different streets. Perfect capture of Paris.
Meg Shearer
Wonderful shot Ira.
Ira Shander replied:
A very old street with quite a history.
