Description
"Angel By The Sea" is now a restored and very popular tourist destination in Cape May, NJ. When I took this photo in 1980 it was a wreck. At that time it was used as a dormitory for Shelton College. Originally this was one half of a larger house. The owner, a wealthy Philadelphia chemist had wanted a seaside view. So, he had it rolled on logs by farmers using mule power. Too big to move in its entirety, the farmer engineers sawed it in half hoping to fit it back together again. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way. But Mr. Weightman did get his seaside view. Albeit somewhat truncated. There is much more history on this building. But not enough time to relate it here.
