Description
Prague is a city that has known many ups and downs. Democracy, monarchy, communism, religious wars, social strife, and industrialization, have all left their mark on the Czech lands and people. I took this photograph in 1977, a sad and fearful time for what was then Czechoslovakia. Prague was still beautiful but run down and gloomy. When I went back a few years ago the transformation was unbelievable. I tried to give this photograph the feeling of a turn of the century,1900
